John Hodgins – MBA FCIOB

I started life in construction in 1982 working for a local shopfitting company. As time progressed I then started to develop my trade skills and trained and developed in specialist areas such as plastering, rendering and partitioning works. During the late nineties, I started managing works for smaller companies before progressing to work for larger companies such as Keepmoat and Balfour Beatty

In 2010 I decided to come into full-time education delivering a variety of NVQ such as NVQ Level 7 and Level 6 management. In addition to these, I was able to deliver NVQ level 2 and 3 qualifications for Plastering, Dry Lining and associated trades. I have also delivered classroom-based courses and developed and delivered Institute of Management courses to help the development of supervisors and managers at Balfour Beatty.

I am also a very active member of the Chartered Institute of Building and sit on various education standards committees but my main role is the delivery of Professional Review workshops to provide advice and guidance for the successful completion of the professional review process. I also mark the reports and I am an exams marker also for the CMP examination papers.

One of my key attributes for those undertaking the NVQ level 7 is that candidates are entitled to exemptions from the report because of my chartered status.
